  • You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, a referral from your GP as well as a Mental Health Treatment Plan will make you eligible to access Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

  • Every initial appointment goes for 80 minutes. It will involve Emily asking a lot of questions in order to get to know you and understand how she can best help you. Most initial appointments for children will involve parents as well. Each appointment after this will go for 50 minutes.

  • Emily is not currently taking referrals for:

    - Couples therapy

    - Those seeking a full diagnostic assessment for ADHD or Autism

    - Individuals seeking treatment under work cover

    - Individuals experiencing acute psychosis

    - Clients seeking treatment primarily for eating disorders, substance use disorders or addictions

    - Family court related matters

    - Clients seeking a court report

  • You can cancel your session up to 48 hours in advance without attracting a cancellation fee.

    If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice but more than 24 hours notice, you will be charged for 50% of the session.

    If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or do not show up to your appointment, you will be charged 100% of the session fee.

  • Fees

    Weekday appointments (50 minutes): $265

    Saturday appointments (50 minutes): $285

    The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee for psychologists in 2024-2025 for a 46-60 minute consultation is $311. Emily's fees are lower than the recommended fee.

    If you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral from your GP, you are eligible for a rebate of $141.85 per session from Medicate. You may be eligible for a rebate from your private health fund, although this cannot be used in conjunction with your medicare rebate. Please check with your private health fund to confirm your entitlements. Please note Emily does not offer bulk billing.
